The Climate & Health Youth Network (CHYN) was founded in 2025 by a group of visionary health sciences students in Zambia who saw firsthand how climate change and public health challenges intersect in their communities. They realized that young people are uniquely positioned to lead change, to research, innovate, and advocate for solutions that protect both people and the planet.
From these beginnings, CHYN has grown into a youth-led network of young Zambians aged 18-35, united by a shared mission: to empower youth to take action at the climate-health nexus. We provide platforms for research, sustainable innovation, leadership, and advocacy, ensuring that youth voices are heard in national and international dialogues on climate and health.
At CHYN, we believe that youth are not just the future, they are the change-makers of today. Through collaboration, evidence-driven action, and community-focused initiatives, we strive to build healthy, resilient, and equitable communities across Zambia and Africa.
