VISION

A safer, healthier, and climate-resilient Africa led by empowered youth.

WHO WE ARE

The Climate & Health Youth Network is a youth-led non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2025 by a small group of health sciences students who saw a crisis and chose to act. We are a pan-African movement dedicated to building youth leadership, evidence, and partnerships to make health systems safer, fairer, and ready for a changing climate, with initial operations based in Zambia

Our work is driven by the conviction that young people are on the front lines of climate impacts and must be central to designing solutions. From our Zambia pilot, we are building and testing youth-driven models that are designed to be replicated and scaled across African contexts to safeguard health in a changing climate.

WHAT DRIVES US

Climate change is not a distant threat; it is already the single biggest health crisis facing Africa.

For young people across the continent, this is a lived reality. Between 2001 and 2021, more than half of all public health events on the continent were linked to climate change, including the spread of malaria and other vector-borne diseases, waterborne outbreaks after floods, food and nutrition insecurity, heat-related illnesses, and rising mental health burdens due to displacement and trauma.

These crises hit our generation hardest, affecting our education, our livelihoods, and our long-term health outcomes.

We saw the crisis, and we refused to wait for a solution.

Our network was born from the realization that to safeguard our future, we had to become the architects of it. We harness the energy, innovation, and leadership of African youth to build climate-resilient health systems, bridge the gap between science and communities, and advance a “One Health” approach that recognizes the interconnected well-being of people, animals, and the environment.
